practices for a world without genocide or state repression or climate catastrophe …
"The fight against racism is our issue. It’s not something that we’re called on to help People of Color with. We need to become involved with it as if our lives depended on it because really, in truth, they do.” — Anne Braden
“Precisely at the point when you begin to develop a conscience, you must find yourself at war with your society.”
— James Baldwin
Our world is ravaged by genocide, in the United States masked men roam the streets abducting people, and the environmental devastation of a profit-driven global economy threatens to unravel the foundations of life itself. Essential to the political economy that drives all of this destruction is the conception of “European” or “white” supremacy, an ideology used to justify untold horrors while it socializes people of European descent to uphold a ruling class agenda that isn’t good for anyone.
Fundamentals of Antiracism online course and white racial caucus is designed to help participants understand, analyze and break down the ideology of racism - in ourselves, our families, our communities and our world. Antiracism is not about guilt or shame or calling people out. It’s about shedding a toxic ideology that's been imposed upon us by the ruling class - an ideology that not only enables impunity & destruction, but also separates us from our own heritage, traditions and ancestors.
Appropriate for people with a wide variety of experience levels, participants engage with the work of this course through dialogue, storytelling, reflective practices and study. Under the leadership of Eleanor Hancock (director of Comrades Education, formerly White Awake), with contributions from antiracist white educators Chris Crass and David Dean, this course is designed to help you:
evaluate the role of white supremacy as a divide-and-conquer tool that upholds capitalism, imperialism, colonialism, fascism and the destruction of our world
explore family history and assimilation into “whiteness” with an eye for what was lost along the way
engage in storytelling and processing difficult emotions in order to bring integrity, clarity and longevity to one’s personal antiracist practice
identify the ways that white supremacy harms white people and develop antiracist practices that strengthen our capacity for multiracial solidarity
develop our capacity to bring other white people into multiracial struggle for the common good
~✵~
Fundamentals of Antiracism 2025 is a white racial caucus within which participants will spend significant time focusing on their racial socialization as white people. For more on this, please see our Course Structure, Participant Agreements & Ground Rules.

"Why do you charge for your work?"
We believe the work that we do is significant, and we want to do it well. To this end, we charge a modest fee for our online programs, and solicit donations from participants and supporters, in order to meet our financial needs. This allows Comrades Education staff and instructors to focus their time and energy on the educational work this project promotes, for the benefit of all.
Comrades Education and our instructors support a transition away from capitalism, imperialism and white supremacy; we support reparations to historically targeted groups, communities and Peoples; and we make our work available to all regardless of financial means.
